27th December 2000

Happy Christmas to one and all. I hope Santa brought you everything you
wanted and you haven't overdosed from eating too much pud or too many
mince pies. I am currently writing this in Ket's house while he puts
together his new toy and I catch up with the "wise words". At the moment
my house is like Barnet General. All the beds are full of sick people. My
two kids and my missus are laid up with the 'flu and I don't think it will
be long before yours truly retires to bed feeling " a little bit achy".
Last night saw a large amount of the white stuff falling from the Heavens.
Everywhere looks "very xmassy" and the afternoon was so nice I jumped in
the car and drove over to Mill Hill with the video camera and took a few
stills of the sun going down on the wintry landscape. I hope I have
painted a suitably awesome picture in your head because the view was
excellent. We receive these wonderful gifts from Mother Nature every day
but we very rarely have time to appreciate them......Shut Up Hippy and
tell us about the music. Mr Wal is laid up in bed after having an
operation to remove a couple of broken discs. That's what he is telling us
but I think the operation might have been for the king size haemorrhoids
that are hanging from his Fife and Drum. Poor Wal is going to be on his
back for at least a month so if you catch me playing live and the bass
player is horizontal then don't think he is pissed or a drugged- up rock
'n' roller because it's just an old man who can't hack it anymore.
Seriously though, it can't be much fun for the hyperactive champ of South
Wales to be chained to a bed for a month. Anyway I'm off for another Xmas
cold one to leave Ket with his new toy. I will see y'all in the New Year.
Happy New Year.

16th December 2000

So here we are again, still making excuses for the site not being up. Ket
has been a busy boy and has to pay his rent and put food in his mouth so
he can only help me when he has some spare time which unfortunately for me
is not very often. Well I suppose I better fill you in on what has been
going on since we last spoke. I went to see Nigey Nige do a gig with
Martyn Joseph. It was at the Purcell Rooms in the Royal Festival Hall
(very posh). Went down with Tony K and met up with Mr Boult and Captain
Blaster. I had never seen Martyn before and really enjoyed the first half
of the gig but unfortunately we were distracted during the interval by a
few stray beers and had to round them up and therefore did not catch the
second half of the show. Nige was boss and sang and played well and Martyn
was excellent in the self-deprecating humour which was applied by the
spadeful. I travelled up to Liverpool last Sunday to watch the football
and by the time I had arrived home later the same day then I was beginning
to think why I bothered. The team were pants and deservedly lost 0-1.
There was one person who was smiling that day and that was Tall Paul from
Newport who had made the trip from South Wales with Newport Nikk ( Red ),
Lenny ( Hammer ) and Simon Flat-Top. I think the Tractor Boy will need
plastic surgery to get the grin off his face. It is the first time I have
seen them lose this season and the journey home was a long one. I was in
the studio on Tuesday with Cujo recording some of their rocking tunes.
Thursday was a trip down to Islington to do an interview with a guy from
Chrysalis TV who are the people behind the current "Top Ten". They are
doing an "Ex-rated Top 10" which features Relax. It is supposed to go out
in March next year and I will inform y'all if I find out beforehand.
Tomorrow I am off for a few beers and a day of football and music. The day
will begin at midday with the game between Manchester United and Liverpool
which could really determine the rest of the day depending on the outcome.
After an afternoon of scooping we will be off to watch Monti and his band
Sulpher ( www.sulpher.co.uk if you like hardcore industrial devil's music
). It is not normally the sort of thing I listen to but it is done very
well and kicks a very large botty. hopefully by the time you read this all
the other links on the site will be fired up.

5th December 2000

Sorry for the lack of wise words in the past couple of weeks but I have
been otherwise distracted by organising the various things for the site
update. The site went down at the server a couple of weeks ago and that is
the reason that parts of the opening page are missing etc. I thought I
would fill you in on what new stuff was going to be included when we
finally get it up. There will be three videos: two live acoustic
performances from the Flying picket last year. there are acoustic versions
of "King For A Day" and "A Girl Like You" and a video from a Welsh tv show
called Heno where me and the chaps performed "A Girl Like You". There will
also be some streaming radio interviews from when I was running round the
country doing promo stuff for "Ripe". We will also have a chat area which
I intend to visit once a week and chat to y'all at a time to be decided
and there will also be a few new pics of me and the chaps. I hope to get
this sorted as soon as possible and I apologise for the shabbiness.
